Abstract: Una revisión bibliográfica de diferentes trabajos y autores sobre la responsabilidad social corporativa presenta las miradas más representativas desde las diferentes perspectivas de análisis. El artículo intenta determinar también lo que entienden por responsabilidad social las organizaciones bancarias en Colombia. Además, se describe el papel que cumplen los bancos en una sociedad como la colombiana, caracterizada por múltiples problemas sociales y donde el sector financiero, en particular el subsector bancario, ha sido, durante varios anos consecutivos, el exponente de las mayores utilidades en el país. Corporate social responsibility in the context of institutional and organizational change in the Colombian financial sector This article aims first to review literature of different papers and authors about Corporate Social Responsibility in order to integrate the most representative viewpoints from the analysis’ diverse perspectives; second, to characterize how banking organizations in understand; and third, to describe the role that banks have in the Colombian society which is characterized by multiple social problems and where the financial sector, particularly the banking system, has been obtaining the most profits for several consecutive years.
