Abstract:
The purpose of this article is to define the relationship between value of investments made by foreign investors in Poland and the total amount of their investment made by these investors in the world. The study includes the period 2005–2011 when the economic and financial crisis occurred in the global economy. Therefore, special attention was paid to the impact of global economic crisis on the changes in the total amount and direction of foreign investments. Much attention will be paid „greenfield” investments which are essential for the host countries because of creating (and increasing) value of the assets located in those countries from the basis. The author hypothesized that the crisis has caused quite far-reaching reallocation of foreign investment in the world but that did not affect the direction off load the total value of foreign investments in Poland.
