Freedom of choice of a lawyer

Abstract:
The freedom to choose lawyer is a base of development of the legal expenses insurance market. It appeared on the basis of EU regulations in the 87/344/Directive regulations connected with principle of the freedom of choice of lawyer on the basis of Polish Insurance Activity Act. Author present practical issues connected with the terms used in the Directive “lawyer” and “prejudical stage”. Article also refers law and economic issues connected with the attempt to limit the rule of freedom to choose lawyer by introducing legal assistance and representation of the insured by the insurer.
