Abstract:
The author of this lecture reflects on monetary policy challenges in small open economies like Chile. By way of illustration, he refers in particular to the monetary policy followed in Chile during his term as chairman of the Central Bank, between December 2011 and December 2016. He also touches on the policies that were followed by other countries in the region and on the various ways in which they resembled and differed from Chilean policy
