Internal control as a determinant of efficient public management: The case of prison logistics in Peru

Rossini Dante Pacha Apaza ()

Edu - Tech Enterprise, 2025, vol. 3, 104

Abstract: The main objective of this research was to establish the extent to which internal control is linked as a determining factor in the efficiency of public management, specifically in the area of logistics of an Institutional Prison Office in Peru. The study was framed within basic research with a quantitative approach, non-experimental design, cross-sectional and correlational scope. The sample consisted of 75 civil servants and officials, who were given a structured questionnaire with 20 items. The findings showed a correlation coefficient of r = 0.916 and a significance level of p = 0.000, confirming the existence of a statistically significant relationship between the variables analyzed. Consequently, it is suggested that internal control be rigorously strengthened in order to ensure its positive effects within the study unit.
