Abstract:
The technological advances, the development of the communications infrastructure and the increase of a wider financial culture is creating the possibility to use, little by little, electronic payment systems at the expense of physical money. In this article the author intends to analyze from a microeconomy and macroeconomy point of view the effects, impact, advantages and disadvantages of a cashless economy, where all the payments would be made and received by electronic or digital means.
