Taxation and Housing: A Comment

Abstract: In his paper Dr Ittig argues that the tax position of home ownership is not particularly protected or privileged. His argument rests on the demonstration that home owners do pay taxes in relation to their homes, and he argues that they therefore cannot be subsidised.
