Domestic Imbalances and European Growth

Abstract: The recovery in Europe seems to be gradually progressing, although it remains fairly slow relative to developments in Asia and North America and uneven across countries. In the first quarter of 2010 the economy of the EU grew by ¼ per cent, marking the third consecutive quarter of growth after the deep decline of 2.6 per cent recorded in the first quarter of 2009.
