Leadership Outcomes of the Transformational, the Transactional and the Passive Leadership Style in Public Secondary Education Based on Teachers’ Perceptions

Abstract: Leadership styles provide a specific perspective on school leadership and the principal in a school usually uses elements of different leadership styles in his/her daily work — practice. The purpose of this research was to investigate the perceptions of public secondary school teachers of the Prefecture of Thessaloniki in Greece on the leadership style (transformational, transactional, passive) and whether any leadership style is connected to leadership outcomes. The findings of the research are reported regarding the leadership style perceived by the public secondary education teachers of this specific Prefecture and the results of the principal leadership of the school unit where they work, as well as whether the aforementioned leadership styles are predictors of leadership outcomes.
