Planning academic performance management in secondary education

Abstract: The study aimed to describe academic performance management planning in secondary education. A positivist approach was adopted with a descriptive, non-experimental, cross-sectional, field design. The sample included 34 secondary school teachers from public educational institutions located in El Doncello, Caquetá, Colombia. Observation was used as the data collection technique and a Likert-type questionnaire was used as the instrument. For the analysis, descriptive statistics were applied through frequency distribution, percentages, and calculation of arithmetic means using SPSS software. The results obtained allowed us to describe academic performance management planning in secondary education, demonstrating a high general mastery (x = 3,77), with reliable responses and low dispersion. Teachers show a positive perception regarding the effective curriculum, use of technologies, and assessment strategies. However, significant gaps were identified in the pedagogical appropriation of technological tools and in the consolidation of formative assessment practices. This suggests that, while there is a solid foundation for planning, ongoing teacher training and critical reflection need to be strengthened. Planning must transcend technical aspects and integrate ethical, contextual, and methodological dimensions. Only then will it be possible to substantially improve academic performance.
