Abstract:
This study evaluates the adherence of patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) to their hemodialysis treatment and the factors that influence it. A quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out with 100 patients in a hemodialysis clinic. The results showed that 75% of patients regularly attend their sessions and 60% consistently follow medical instructions. Family support proved to be crucial, with 80% of patients receiving some form of support. Financial barriers and health complications were the main obstacles to adherence. Furthermore, 70% of patients stated that they had sufficient information about their disease and treatment, and 65% were satisfied or very satisfied with their treatment. Interventions should focus on strengthening family support, providing continuing education, and addressing socioeconomic barriers.
