Acute pancreatitis and development of pancreatic pseudocyst: case report

Abstract: The pancreatic pseudocyst is a complication of inflammatory conditions of the pancreas, ranging from acute pancreatitis to pancreatic neoplasia. The case report describes a 54-year-old male without diabetes, hypertension, or allergies, who presented with abdominal pain and vomiting five times, two of which were bilious in nature. He was diagnosed through abdominal ultrasound, magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography, and contrast-enhanced computed tomography. After two weeks, due to the persistence of the pseudocyst, he was treated with a cholecystectomy, showing improvement seven days after the surgery.
