How to talk to Guantanamo adolescents to prevent them from sexual abuse

Abstract: A contextualization of the prudence test proposed by the International University of Santiago de Chile was carried out, adapting it to the socio-demographic characteristics of the province of Guantánamo, Cuba. This was done by taking into account the socio-demographic behavior of sexual abuse during adolescence in that province during the period from 2010 to 2024, with the aim of contributing to the prevention of sexual abuse in adolescence through conscious self-care. The following methods and techniques were used to create the pedagogical-didactic material: analytical-synthetic, inductive-deductive, semi-structured interviews with specialists, document analysis, and expert opinion. The main variables considered were: age, sex, gender approach, victim-perpetrator relationship, risk behaviors, and the most common methods used by perpetrators. Some of the results were: a pedagogical-didactic material was obtained that promotes the prevention of the aforementioned abuse through dyadic communication led by parents or guardians and teachers with the aforementioned age group, by identifying the vulnerabilities and strengths of minors regarding the issue in question.
