A Systematized Experience: Artificial Intelligence, Ally in Teaching or Threat to the Future?

Luis José Gómez Loero

Revista Multidisciplinaria Voces de América y el Caribe, 2024, vol. 1, 327-358

Abstract: Introduction: This article presents an autobiographical case study that systematizes the personal experience of the author while interacting daily with various artificial intelligence (AI) tools in an educational context between November 2022 and February 2024. Method: Through an in-depth autoethnographic analysis of detailed logs, it examines the motivations, learnings, benefits, ethical dilemmas, and projections that have emerged around the use of these emerging technologies. Results: As key findings, it highlights the great potential of AI to develop skills and optimize tasks, but also the need to foster critical thinking in the face of possible biases. At the same time, it reveals the importance of curiosity, creativity, and a robust ethical framework for responsible implementation. Among the identified dilemmas are equity in access, privacy challenges, and the risks of technological over-dependence. Conclusions: While the results are intrinsic, they invite us to maximize the educational benefits of AI by mitigating risks through clear regulations and ethical development of these technologies.
