Abstract:
The objective of this research article was to analyze the use of Technologies for Empowerment and Participation (TEP) as a tool to improve higher education, through quantitative, non-experimental research of a basic and descriptive type, in which a questionnaire-type instrument to 120 university professors in virtual mode, to respond to the research objective. As a result, it was found that Virtual Learning Environments (VLE) are the tools most used by teachers (90%), followed using digital tools and spaces on the web (80%). However, a significant percentage (60%) report difficulties in implementing TEPs, mainly due to lack of training in their use and insufficient technological resources. Which allows us to conclude that the TEP must be based on collaborative work to support less advantaged teachers, they must promote the production of dynamic educational material and the use of friendly digital spaces as web teaching tools.
