Abstract: The upward development of the Russian economy determines the growth of production, a change in the specialization of economic activity both in Russia as a whole and in its regions. The scale and problems of the formation of the economy and transport system of the Russian Federation should be considered in the system of territorial and economic division of the country. Integral development of all elements of the national transport infrastructure in the sectoral and spatial dimensions is necessary.
