Assessment of the position of the Russian economy in global innovation systems

Abstract:
Russia’s industrial policy is focused on the innovative development of the national economy. To justify the decisions taken, an objective assessment of the existing level of the innovative economy is necessary, determining its place in the world innovation systems, competitive advantages, promising directions and development models, which determines the relevance of the issues considered in the article.The authors present the features of the current state of the innovative economy of the Russian Federation, taking into account the level of innovative development and the rating calculated according to the global innovation index system. The index includes indexes of innovation resources and innovation results.The main problems of the innovative way of economic development are systematized and the position of the Russian economy in global innovation systems is assessed.The analysis carried out in the article allows us to look at the processes taking place in the innovation sphere of Russia in comparison with other countries and identify a weak link for the transition to the full innovative path of development.
