Analysis of small and medium-sized businesses in the crisis period

Abstract: A significant role in the economic development of the country is given to the sector of small and medium-sized enterprises. In times of crisis its comprehensive support is one of the priority tasks of the government. In this connection the investigated business sector is under the close attention of country’s government and economists. The article analyzes the official statistical data on the main indicators of SME activity. It reveals a high correlation between the gross value added created by SMEs and the volume of innovative goods, works and services in the Russian Federation.
