Abstract: The article presents the results of the assessment of the readiness of the modern education system of the Russian Federation to the global challenges of the digital economy. On the basis of the statistical and sociological research, the advantages and disadvantages of distance learning were revealed, directions for optimizing the process of training personnel in the conditions of digitalization were proposed.
