Socio-economic value of low-intensity railway lines

Abstract:
This article describes socio-economic issues associated with low-intensity railway lines. Key stakeholders engaged in operation and maintenance of low-intensity railway lines were analyzed. The main expectations of all stakeholders were defined. The stakeholders who are significantly impacted by the negative effect of low-intensity railway lines closure were identified. The approaches to define and evaluate the socio-economic role of low-intensity railway lines were outlined.
