Abstract: This study analyzes the impact of democratization on the origin and diffusion of technological innovation across countries. It presents a theoretical framework and empirical evidence showing that democratic institutions foster innovation by promoting transparency, accountability, and inclusive policies. The paper concludes that democratization is a key driver of technological progress.
