Abstract:
It is estimated that in Chile there is a 4% of children with specific language disorders. In the schools this children are taken care through the School Integration Program (PIE, Acronym for its initials in Spanish). This is the case of students of the age group 5-9 years from Miraflores School of Viña del Mar that are diagnosed with this disorder. From this reality, the team posed the question in which it is generated the investigation: Which is the influence of parental lifestyles in overcoming of specific language disorders in studen students of the age group 5-9 years from Miraflores School of Viña del Mar? The question raised was taken by a qualitative research in an interpretative paradigm. The methodology corresponded to a case study.The central assumption of research it is that all parenting styles and family dynamics have components that hinder or facilitate the overcoming of specific language disorders.The conclusions reached establish that there is not just one parenting styles in families to which belong the students of this research (Authoritarian, negligent, permissive or authoritative). In terms of family dynamics there are functional and dysfunctional.Definitely, it is advisable that professionals that integrate the multidisciplinary team collect and process information about parenting styles and family dynamics that live the students in which they intervene; this with the purpose of potentiate the factors that favor the overcoming of specific language disorders and neutralize those that make this difficult.
