Abstract:
This study on the practices of strategic management and adaptability of Small and medium enterprises in the city of Bukavu aims to determine the impact of strategic management on the adaptability of these companies, to do this, it relies on a sample of 100 Small and medium enterprises from which data was collected using an online questionnaire. The results of the factor analysis endorse that the main practices of strategic management are the competitiveness and the security of the company. These factors explain 71.94 % of the total explained variance of strategic management practices. To adapt the SME to its environment, SME managers adopt managerial strategies of resilience to competition, which provide the remedy for any change in the business environment by constituting the resources and means necessary to achieve the objectives but also by controlling the turbulence of the business environment, the results of the final model show that strategic management practices have a positive impact on the adaptability of SMEs, more than the profiles of managers. The more managerial practices are put in place, the more the SME adapts to environmental changes.
