Abstract: The peace that gradually settled after the Second World War allowed the contemporary world to focus on trade and economic development. The center of interest of industrialized countries then shifted towards exploitation and not access to resources and the mechanism for distributing capital following the logic of profitability. The war in Ukraine and the tensions between the countries of the great powers are leading to a new paradigm. Today’s world is moving towards the return of the Nation State where the crux of the matter is the control of technology. We then wonder whether Madagascar could seize the opportunities offered by the changes and the current geopolitical mutation even though its geopolitical and geostrategic importance has gradually declined since its independence. Thus, this work focuses on the threats and opportunities for Madagascar in the face of the geopolitical transformation of today’s world.
