Abstract: The Greater Maghreb, a region comprising five North African countries, offers considerable potential for sustainable and inclusive development. This region, rich in natural resources, benefits from a strategic geographical position linking Africa, Europ and the Middle East, making it a key crossroads for international trade. Opportunities include economic growth based on the diversification of economies, the development of renewable energies, particularly solar and wind, and a young and dynamic workforce. However, the challenges are multiple. Persistent political tensions, the lack of regional integration, and economic and social disparities hamper the harmonious development of the region. In addition, environmental degradation, linked to climate change and unsustainable exploitation of resources, constitutes a major threat. To overcome these challenges, the Greater Maghreb must adopt a regional approach based on cooperation and sustainability. Promoting inclusive governance, investing in education and technological innovation, as well as the energy transition, are priorities. In addition, transboundary initiatives, such as joint water resource management, can strengthen climate resilience. The Greater Maghreb has the potential to become a model of sustainable and inclusive development, but this requires strong political commitment, increased regional integration, and strategies focused on equity and sustainability.
