Journal of Artificial Intelligence General science (JAIGS) ISSN:3006-4023, 2024, vol. 3, issue 1, 466-475

Abstract: The transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy is a pivotal step toward achieving global sustainable development goals. This study explores the collaborative efforts of engineers and local governments in facilitating this transition, emphasizing the implementation of innovative technologies, policy frameworks, and community engagement strategies. By examining case studies and best practices, the paper highlights the critical role of engineers in designing and deploying renewable energy systems and the proactive measures taken by local governments to create enabling environments through supportive policies and incentives. The research underscores the synergy between technical expertise and governance in addressing challenges such as infrastructure development, financing, and public awareness. The findings demonstrate that a coordinated approach between engineers and local governments is essential to accelerating the adoption of renewable energy and promoting environmental, economic, and social sustainability.
