Abstract: In this paper we examine the current impact and future potential of AI on the custom manufacturing industry. This study dives deep into the automotive component industry where custom manufacturing plays a significant role. It explores whether AI can help us improve the overall efficiency of the manufacturing processes by improving the precision of machining operations and reducing production lead times and material wastage. The study also explores the impact of AI in the low-volume and high complexity environments involved in custom manufacturing in the automotive industry.
