Abstract:
As digital technology develops rapidly and the global film industry undergoes reshaping, East Asia has emerged as a key force in the transformation of digital films, actively exploring and innovating in the field of film technology. Independent films, a vital branch of film art that emphasizes personal expression and innovative exploration, have the opportunity to break through traditional resource limitations in the digital age. However, they also face many new challenges. This paper examines the innovation in East Asian film production technology in the digital age as the research object. It provides a deep analysis of its multidimensional impact on independent film creation. The study found that the digital transformation of filming technology has reduced equipment costs and expanded cinematographic perspectives. In addition, the digital breakthroughs in post-production and processes have given creators greater creative freedom and collaboration efficiency. These innovations have significantly reduced the threshold and cost of independent film creation, expanded the creative space, improved creative efficiency and work quality, and promoted the diversification of creative subjects. However, the development of digital technology has also led to technological dependence, causing numerous problems, including imbalanced artistic expression, a shortage of professional and technical talents, the homogenization of works, and the erosion of cultural characteristics. Some works excessively pursue technical effects, ignoring the core of the story. There is poor communication between artists and technicians within the creative team, and template creation often causes the works to lose their uniqueness. Through systematic analysis and case studies, this study aims to provide theoretical references and practical lessons for independent film creators in East Asia, helping them achieve sustainable development of independent films in the digital age while balancing technology and art.
