Objective: analyze the current situation of the system of document processing through digital signatures and administrative management in public universities. Methods: bibliographic research developed through a systematic review of repositories of Peruvian universities dated since 2019 and with the support of Google Scholar. Results: the findings showed that the existing advances continue to be scarce despite having demonstrated the benefits they bring to these entities in the use of human resources, materials, and time costs, as well as in the streamlining of their administrative processes, in line with the global trend of zero paper.
