Health Leadership and Quality of Life, 2024, vol. 3, .159

Abstract: Introduction: stroke represents a challenge for modern medicine. Physical, functional, psychological and social aspects are particularly important when assessing the quality of life of people suffering from this disease. Objective: to systematize the knowledge on quality of life of post-stroke patients through the results of research on the subject. Methods: a documentary review, qualitative and descriptive research was carried out, and the following theoretical methods were used: historical-logical, analytical-synthetic, inductive-deductive. Results: stroke is a disease with a growing tendency, where the study of the quality of life of these patients has been constant and has achieved its best form of quantification with the development of the ECVI - 38, of Cuban origin, an instrument applied by other researchers both in our country and in other latitudes. The link between quality of life and family environment has been worked in few works worldwide and with scarce bibliography in Cuba. Conclusions: the systematization of the specialized bibliography and the research carried out on the subject has shown enough elements of judgment to make assessments in order to plan an improvement strategy for the professional performance of the family doctor on quality of life of the post stroke patient based on the best experiences in Cuba and the rest of the world.
