Abstract:
The objective of the study was to identify the current awareness of total edentulous patients about prosthetic care, creating an educational proposal in colloquial language, which facilitates their understanding. Self-care, disinfection and maintenance of dental prostheses are the main topics within the rehabilitation of the edentulous patient. The research was carried out in a private office of the CABA to 50 patients with upper total dental prostheses, where staining was performed with bacterial plaque revealing solution to visualize the biofilm adhered to the prosthesis and/or the prosthetic adhesive. The patients' knowledge about the maintenance and cleaning of dental prostheses was not optimal.
