Abstract:
Introduction: Prediabetes is an asymptomatic condition that precedes type 2 diabetes and is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease. Objective: to characterize the cardiovascular risk in prediabetics treated at the Diabetes Care Center, during the period May 2019 - June 2021. Methods: a descriptive, observational, cross-sectional research was carried out, the universe was made up of 97 patients, which intentionally coincided with the sample, the variables studied were: age, sex, nutritional assessment, global cardiovascular risk, vascular risk factors and macrovascular and microvascular complications. Methods: for the analysis of the information, the Statistical Package for Social Sciences statistical system was used, a descriptive univariate analysis was applied for the quantitative variables through measures of central tendency and dispersion, statistics such as the distribution of absolute and relative frequencies were used.
