Abstract:
The right to decide about one's own body and reproductive health is an essential human rights issue. When abortion in cases of rape is addressed, the discussion becomes more complex due to the profound physical, psychological and emotional consequences that this act of violence has on women. In many cases, rape results in unwanted pregnancies, which raises a controversial debate in society and the scientific community. This article analyzes abortion due to rape from a medical and scientific perspective, considering its physical and psychological implications and the options available to affected women
