Abstract:
Introduction: The solution to health problems affecting the population constitutes the starting point for the improvement of professionals working in Primary Health Care. Objective: to determine the theoretical foundations of the model of the professional improvement process of general practitioners for the early diagnosis of oral communication disorders. Methods: the dialectic method was used as the guiding method. From the theoretical level: historical-logical, analytical-synthetic and inductive-deductive. Results: the model is based on philosophical, psychological, pedagogical, legal or juridical foundations of professional improvement in Cuba, sociological and of the sciences of Medical Education. It assumes the principles of permanent and continuous training, of Education at Work and of the relationship between forms, technologies and cognitive independence. As theoretical-methodological conditioners are the active and reflexive participation of the specialist in the process, the commitment to change in terms of professional performance. This process is conceived as a system of activities integrated to the set of actions that take place in the institution where he/she works, with the creation of collaborative learning and the incorporation of technologies. Conclusions: for the elaboration of the model it is essential to start from the theoretical foundations, principles and theoretical-methodological conditioning factors to guarantee the validity of the new object relations and the implementation of the strategy as a way of implementing the model.
