Impact of digital tools in production areas

Abstract: Digital changes in production areas are benefiting many industries, offering sustainability. However, these changes involve actions such as staff training, good cybersecurity and rapid adaptation to the market. The purpose of this article is to analyze areas where digital tools are prioritized, taking the La Universal industry as a case study. This analysis seeks to answer questions about the influence of digitalization on manufacturing and administration operations. Because of this, objectives are proposed to analyze improvement strategies. This article shows a qualitative and descriptive approach, through a semi-structured interview with two important workers of the organization. Once information was collected on the knowledge of the implementation of digital tools, the data was analyzed using a software called Atlas.Ti, which encodes responses to analyze results. Within the responses obtained by the two workers, it was found that the most prominent digital tools are AutoCAD and real-time monitoring sensors. In production, digital tools account for 80% of the influence, in the distribution area they account for 50% of the importance with respect to the use of digital tools, and in the marketing area, the use of CRM together with social networks has facilitated the processes, which accounts for 90% of the importance in the use of digital tools. Digitalization in this industry has been of great help in industrial processes, thanks to these implementations, costs and times have been reduced and the company has increased its position with respect to its competition.
