Abstract: Teaching in health sciences needs to be constantly being renewed in order to build professionals who are always more qualified and up-to-date. In this study we evaluated the impact of a research subject during the medical degree, we consulted students and alumni through different questions in order to evaluate their experiences after having participated in an initiation subject to scientific research. An observational study of medical education will be carried out, analyzing the information obtained from the questions addressed to the students. The results of the research indicate that of the 45 participants who answered the survey online, 75.5% believe that the subject is important, 62.2% consider that having studied a research subject in the medical career has a positive influence. When preparing a scientific article, 35.6% think that the organization of the course was not adequate, 68.9% of those surveyed state that they feel little prepared to carry out an investigation In objective terms, we can conclude that the result of the impact of a research subject in the medical career is widely recognized as important among students and alumni and that research in the area of medicine is fundamental.
