Abstract: Heart failure is a clinical syndrome characterized by symptoms such as dyspnea and fluid retention in the context of structural abnormalities of the heart. For many years, the importance of the right heart was ignored or forgotten, however, it has been revealed that the right ventricle is a key part in the prognosis of left heart failure. The right ventricle modulates the structure and function of the left ventricle. Interest arises in carrying out a bibliographic review on right heart failure as a cause of left heart failure. The study design was a systematic review of the literature available in PubMED, this review was of a quantitative-qualitative nature, through exhaustive and specific searches using MESH terminologies and boulean operators. A total of 7 scientific articles were analyzed, with a total of 1134 patients, with a mean of 226. The most prevalent associated comorbidities were: arterial hypertension, diabetes, obesity and coronary disease. It is concluded that as a new therapeutic objective of HFpEF, something in which most of the authors of the analyzed articles agree, the focus should be placed on the treatment of right ventricular dysfunction.Right ventricular dysfunction is common and affects the normal function of the left ventricle, also impacting the symptoms and the chance of survival
