Abstract: Cerebrovascular accident (CVA) is one of the main causes of death and acquired disability in the world. Swallowing disorders accompany this disease and have a negative impact on the evolution and recovery. Patients suffering from dysphagia can present complications and require more health care, which affects their rehabilitation and survival. The objective of this review is to evaluate the presence of dysphagia in the patient who suffered an ischemic stroke and to determine if there is a prognosis factors for its evolution. A systematic review of the literature published on the PubMed and Google Schoolar platforms was carried out, with the keywords. Ischemic stroke; dysphagia; prognostic From the different searches, 13 articles were obtained, of which only 10 met the inclusion criteria. These results were presented objectively, describing the year of publication, type of study, population, and relationship with dysphagia. There is no unified consensus on what are the prognostic factors for dysphagia in ischemic stroke. As a suggestion for future research, the need to direct research to the study of dysphagia in a population of patients with acute ischemic stroke is raised
