Nursing interventions in post cesarean delivery for severe preeclampsia

Abstract: Preeclampsia is a complication of pregnancy, it begins after 20 weeks of gestation and is characterized by high blood pressure and multisystem damage, frequently to the liver and kidneys. Cesarean section is a surgical procedure in which an incision is made in the mother's abdomen and uterus to remove one or more babies. Objective To expose the role of nursing in the care of patients with severe pre-eclampsia from the perspective of Marjory Gordon's functional patterns. The study methodology was qualitative, single case type, it included a 28-year-old patient, the 11 functional patterns of Marjory Gordon were used for the evaluation of the data collected from the clinical history, interview and physical examination. By identifying the main human responses to analyze objective and subjective data, clinical judgments are finally made to implement care plans under the NANDA, NOC, NIC taxonomy. And the results are evaluated based on the difference between the final score and the initial score. As a result of the administered interventions, a change score according to the area model of 2 to 4 and a difference of +2 was obtained, which subsequently improved with care attention. It is concluded that according to the problems identified in the patient, care was managed based on the altered patterns, obtaining improvement in the patient and recovery of her health since it allowed identifying potential and real problems, and thus being able to address in the treatment of the same from a holistic, comprehensive and timely approach.
