Abstract: The fact that political parties have appeared is the result of a long process of evolution of modern society. The first right granted to Romanians after the Revolution of 1989 was the right to association by Decree-Law no. 8 of 31 December 1989 on the Registration and Functioning of Political Parties and Public Organizations in Romania.
