IMMIGRATION - A GLOBAL PHENOMENON WITH NATIONAL IMPLICATIONS

Corina Florence Popescu and Maria-Irina Grigore-Rădulescu

FIAT IUSTITIA, 2020, vol. 14, issue 2, 61-72

Abstract: The defence of national security and public order in relation to the issue of controlling illegal migration from one state to other states is of interest both internally and externally. Therefore, the policy on controlled migration and the regulations adopted, especially within the European Union, on preventing and fighting illegal migration are priority directions of action in the cooperation of states at international and regional level. An integrated approach and constant cooperation of states for the adoption of common migration policies is a desideratum and an ideal of the international community, which often clashes with national traditions and conservatism, with internal skepticism about harmonization. national, regional and international interests.
