MOUNTAIN AREA – TRENDS AND LEGISLATIVE CHALLENGES

Alexandru Cordoș

FIAT IUSTITIA, 2023, vol. 17, issue 1, 55-62

Abstract: The topic addressed is structured into several sections that include legislative analyses and interpretations regarding the national and international mountain area, economic sociology, history, philosophy, statistics, and anthropology. The analysis extends to the legislative challenges in the direction of sustainable development of the mountain area, the valorization of agricultural production, the development of alternative economic systems, migration, the quality of life, and the workforce. In conclusion, the mountain area is in a paradigm shift, today being considered an area of national importance and it is obvious that we are witnessing a desire for its revival. The aspect is visible through the lens of the recent normative regulations but also of the challenges that include dimensions such as ”generating national security, food sovereignty, depository of cultural values”, and adding economic, ecological, and social values to the mountain space.
