Abstract: Prevention and abatement of family violence is part of the national policy of family protection and assistance and is a major public health issue. The part played by the State is that of applying policies meant to lead to family consolidation, protection and assistance, to the fulfillment of the fundamental principles of family legislation, as well as the fulfillment of equal opportunities between women and men in achieving their human right to life without violence.
