Abstract: This article examines the essential role of medical leadership in the transformation process of Romania's healthcare system. Through an in-depth analysis of specialized literature and the specific context of Romania, the study highlights the need to train medical leaders capable of adapting and continuously improving healthcare services, responding to both internal challenges and the growing demands of patients. Particular emphasis is placed on the need to develop leadership skills among healthcare professionals, especially in the dynamic context of rapid changes in the healthcare system and the growing expectations of patients. The article identifies a number of significant challenges, including a lack of management training, excessive bureaucracy, and chronic underfunding, all of which limit the ability of medical leaders to effectively fulfill their role.
