Abstract:
Young people who are not in employment, education or training (NEET) may face an increased risk of poverty, social exclusion, scars on the labour force market and negative consequences on health. Knowing the size and structure of this youth group, the factors that lead to the statute of NEET, is a major political priority in each EU-27 member state. In this paper, structural changes in the 21st century NEET group are analysed, mainly due to the economic and financial crisis and the health crisis.
