Abstract: Frente a lo ocurrido en Inglaterra, donde cuentan con manuscritos sobre administración y contabilidad señorial desde el siglo XIII, en España sólo se conocen hasta ahora cuatro textos de los siglos XV al XVII en que sus autores se ocupan con mayor o menor detalle de este asunto, pero de los que sólo uno, publicado inicialmente en 1613, puede equipararse en cierto modo a los ingleses: el ‘Compendio en razón de acrecentar Estado y Hacienda y Oficio de Contador’ de Gabriel Pérez del Barrio. (Against what happened in England, where have handwritten texts about manorial administration and accounting since the 13th century, in Spain only we known up to now four texts of the 15th to the 17th in which the authors deal with more or less detail of this matter, but those only one, first published in 1613, he equated somewhat with the English: the ‘Compendium on reason of increasing Estate and Property and role of Accountant’ by Gabriel Pérez del Barrio).
