Abstract:
The aim of the article is covering the topic of Barsils (Bersula) and Barsilia and discovering their role in the history of the North Caucasus. This topic is connected with the Turkic world, which played a huge role in history.Methods. The article is written in a combination of civilizational and formational methods, which allows to deeply study the issues related to Barsils (Bersula) and Barsilia. The article is based on a variety of literary sources.Results. The study found that the Barsils not only made significant adjustments to the ethnic map of the North Caucasus, but also caused the movement of borders of some political entities.Conclusions. The ethnic history of Barsils (Bersils), as the rest of the Turkic tribes, is a long and complex process that requires further attention.
