Abstract:
(VA)Numerous studies examine the relationship between Supply Chain Management (SCM) and the development of a competitive advantage. These studies, however, are mostly both incomplete and disparate. The purpose of this article is to identify the precise nature of SCM practices and to empirically test the relationship between the latter and performance. More specifically, this article tests the impact of 3 SCM practices on 8 different performance metrics, both financial and non financial. Our results show that SCM practices determine performance in different ways and at different levels, both considering the type of practice and the type of performance indicator used.
