Abstract:
The literature on new forms of organization (especially network organizations) is more focused on the description of inter-organizational structures than on an analysis of the management located within these complex configurations. The control of relationships between organizations belonging to the same network remains ill-known. In this article, we propose to study the alliance network management and perfor-mance in the field of logistics, using a database constituted of 55 French and German alliance networks. This data-base is made up of variables enabling the forms of alliance network management to be brought out and linked to the logistic performance of horizontal partners involved in the network. Three explicative variables have been defined:mode of control, nature of the broker and mechanism of socialization.
