Abstract:
Investment decision is one of those which covers many aspects of firm management especially finance and strategy. Recent research shows how close finance and strategy are. However, research rationales are still very normative even though practices seem to abandon proposed tools. A longitudinal study of 13 investment decisions in the French aluminum industry shows how finance and strategy meet together in order to build a strategic management of investment and its tools.
